Stories made up of shots, pictures, images, which are photographs
Niccolò Montesi narrates places through his works and with his lens he describes a real but at the same time ideal architecture. His images are superimposed perspectives, often generated from the chaos of spontaneous architecture. From this chaos he recognizes an order that he then manages to close in a balanced composition. His photography renders the flight of hyper-realistic works, which are nonetheless often betrayed by shadows that return their reality. Pantelleria, a place particularly dear to him, becomes almost an ideal island, often unrecognizable. Niccolò Montesi draws its beauty and rediscovers it through the narrow streets that still today bear the signs of war and destruction. It is beauty not as an expression of the place, nor a story of the force of nature, nor a reportage of images, but a path redesigned by the soul, that, through these works, returns the magic of the island.
